Bed Bug Aprehend® Treatment Preparation
Bed bug remediation requires precision, structure, and cooperation.
Tire Swing utilizes a phased treatment protocol centered around Aprehend® biocontrol treatment, supported by targeted use of Crossfire® where appropriate.
This method is less disruptive than structural heat treatment and is designed to eliminate bed bugs over time through controlled exposure and biological transfer.
Strict adherence to preparation guidelines is required for successful treatment.
Treatment Structure
Bed bug remediation is performed in structured phases.
- Initial Aprehend® application
- Targeted Crossfire® application where indicated
- Scheduled follow-up visit (standard part of the protocol)
This is not a one-visit service.
Elimination occurs progressively as bed bugs contact treated surfaces and transfer exposure throughout harborages.
A follow-up visit is required to assess activity and reinforce treatment as necessary.
Additional service may be required depending on infestation level and site conditions.
Treatment Method
Aprehend® works through controlled surface exposure and horizontal transfer, allowing bed bugs to carry the treatment into harborages over time.
Where appropriate, Crossfire® may be incorporated to provide targeted knockdown and immediate suppression in specific areas.
These materials are not interchangeable and are applied deliberately based on treatment objectives, infestation level, and site conditions, and in accordance with label directions and best practices.
Required Preparation
Bedding
- Remove all sheets, pillowcases, mattress covers, and comforters
- Wash in hot water
- Dry on high heat for a minimum of 30 minutes
- Place cleaned items in sealed plastic bags
- Do not return items until instructed
Clothing & Fabric Items
- Remove clothing from floors, beds, and furniture in affected rooms
- Launder and dry on high heat
- Seal cleaned items in plastic bags
- Leave closets accessible
Furniture & Room Access
- Removed items stored under beds
- Reduce clutter near sleeping areas
- Move furniture at least 12 inches from walls where possible
- Empty nightstands and dressers with affected areas
Do not move infested items into other rooms.
Do not discard furniture unless specifically directed.
Do Not Prior to Service
- Do not apply over-the-counter sprays
- Do not use foggers or total-release aerosols
- Do not steam treat surfaces
- Do not deep clean baseboards or bed frames
During Service
- All occupants and pets must vacate during treatment
- Remain out until treated surfaces are dry
- Follow ventilation instructions provided at time of service
After Treatment
- Activity may still be observed after the initial visit
- Visible bed bugs after treatment do not indicate failure
- Do not wash treated surfaces for 14 days
- Avoid vacuuming baseboards and bed frames
- Continue sleeping in treated rooms
Sleeping elsewhere may disrupt exposure patterns.

Treatment Agreement & Payment Terms
A signed Bed Bug Treatment Agreement is required prior to surface.
This agreement outlines:
- Scope of treatment
- Preparation responsibilities
- Follow-up structure
- Post-treatment expectations
A 50% deposit is required to secure treatment scheduling.
In some cases, a card on file may be required prior to service.
Remaining balance is due at the time of treatment unless otherwise agreed.
Service cannot proceed without signed authorization.
